By Global Master Chef Karl Guggenmos
In part 1 of my Top 6 Brain Teaser Foods series, we talked about how nuts and seeds can help keep our brains healthy.
In part 2, we learned that certain fishes like salmon and sardines have a positive impact.
In part 3, let’s have a look at the benefits of blueberries.
Blueberries contain antioxidants that help in the fight against free radicals, thus protecting cells and supporting healthy growth.
They contain a good dose of vitamin K, C, B-6, E, thiamine, riboflavin and copper – that’s a lot!.
Among the many health benefits, the most significant is in relationship to “Brain Health”. There have been clinical studies that suggest blueberries could improve memory, cognition and healthy aging of the brain.
Blueberries are best eaten fresh, but can also make a great addition to salads, baked goods or as a great summer snack when eaten frozen.
