Apple Cider Vinegar: The Best 3 Ways to Eat This Wonder Food

Last week, we learned that apple cider vinegar is very, VERY healthy for us, so much that it is considered a Wonder Food.

Among other things, it contains pectin, vitamins B1, B12, B6, vitamin C, biotin, folic acid, niacin pantothenic acid along with magnesium, iron, calcium, phosphorus, potassium and sodium.

It is known to help fight fungus infections, help support blood sugar regulation, help regulate blood pressure and some research suggests it even helps support the killing of cancer cells. 

So, now that we know it’s good for us, what are the best ways to use it in one’s daily diet? 

Here are 3:

  1. Take one tablespoon every day, either pure (not recommended because it can be harmful to the enamel of teeth and it can cause stomach issues) or diluted with a glass of water or juice (probably the most effective use).
  2. Use it in dressings, salads, sauces, drinks, pickling vegetables, marinades, and cabbage dishes.
  3. Add it to braising liquids, bone broth and if you are vegan, it can be used to make vegan buttermilk by adding 1 teaspoon to any plant-based milk.

There are also a host of  “non-dietary” uses that are in the news including, fighting bad breath, preventing fruit flies, as a shampoo rinse and even as a skin toner.

So there you have it, Apple Cider Vinegar may very well indeed rightly carry the name “ Wonder or Super Food”.
